A lot of schools spend a lot of time and money deciding what devices to use and how to best use those devices in the classroom. One of the "hottest" new items for schools is the Chromebook using Google Apps for Education. We sometimes refer to this as "Going Google."
There are a lot of good reasons for schools to Go Google, using Chromebooks and Google Apps for Education. Here are a few of them:
While all of these reasons are good, there is one that overshadows all the others. In fact, it is the main reason that schools should Go Google and NOT Go Microsoft or Go Mac. Here's the reason:
The Google Management System, which adds $30 to the cost of each device, allows control of all the school devices from a simple web browser running on a Chromebook, Windows computer, or a Mac computer. You don't even have to be on the campus to management the devices. In addition, you can add an external product such as GoGuardian (a subscription cost of under $10 per device per year) to provide additional management such as web filtering when the student is off campus. You can argue all day about most of the reasons listed above and how they apply to Google, Microsoft, or Apple. But, you can't argue about the Google Management System. It is BY FAR the best and easiest to use available. Give us a call at 682.587.7784 if we can help in helping your school to Go Google. Comments are closed.
